My Story
Dr. Daniel L. Hamilos: is a
member of the full-time faculty
in the Division of
Rheumatology, Allergy and
Immunology of the
Massachusetts General
Hospital. He serves as
teaching attending in allergy
and immunology in both
inpatient and outpatient
services.
Dr. Daniel Hamilos graduated from Northwestern
University School of Medicine in Chicago, IL and
did his Internship and Residency in Internal
Medicine at Duke University in Durham, NC. He
then did a Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology
at Washington University School of Medicine in St.
Louis, MO from 1982-1984. Previously, he was a
member of the faculty at National Jewish Center
for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine in
Denver, Colorado from 1984-1995. He then joined
the faculty at Washington University School of
Medicine in St. Louis, MO from 1995-2003 where
he served as the Training Program Director in
Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Hamilos joined the
faculty of Massachusetts General Hospital in 2003
and currently serves as the Director of Allergy Research. He has conducted basic and clinical
research in immunology and allergic diseases,
most notably in the areas of chronic
rhinosinusitis, nasal polyposis and asthma. In
addition, Dr. Hamilos also conducts drug
treatment trials in asthma, allergic rhinitis,
chronic rhinosinusitis and allergic fungal
sinusitis. He has written or co-authored more
than 50 original articles or book chapters.
